What can you do with a Rope Access certificate? Working in Rope Access is incredibly diverse and really depends on several things! Do you have a background in a trade? Engineering? Rescue? Maybe climbing? Or, are you looking to begin a really exciting career as a Rope Access Technician and your background isn’t in anything specific? Below are just some areas where you might find yourself practicing Rope Access!

High Rise Maintenance

Commerical and Residential Buildings

Perfect for a new technician with little experience. Some tasks include:

  • Window Washing
  • Pressure Washing
  • Dryer Vent cleaning
  • Glazing (installing windows)
  • Working outdoors in all weather

Wind Turbines

Similar to High Rise Maintenance where you can potentially train on the job. Some tasks include:

  • Cleaning
  • Repairs
  • Inspections
  • Work in various outdoor weather in isolated areas



Antennas, Transmitters, Tower Structures

Perfect for a new technician with little experience. Training is usually provided. Some tasks include:

  • Repair, install, and construct communications equipment


Geo Technical

Mountain sides

Mining experience preferred but is an industry you and learn and grow in. Potential tasks:

  • Rock Scaling
  • Drilling
  • Concrete work
  • Work in abrasive and dirty environments

Usually requires some experience on rope and aptitude to work on tight deadlines. Potential tasks might be:
  • Asset Installations
  • Painting
  • Netting
  • Inspections
  • Rigging

Similar to Oil and Gas. Requires technicians to have experience and a trade background. Potential tasks include:

  • NDE Inspections
  • Repair
  • Welding
  • Electrical Work
  • General Maintenance
