Will rope access be too physical for me?
The closest other physical activity I would compare rope access to is climbing. It's all about using your core and lower body versus your upper body. And, women are great using those parts of us to do what we need to do! It's all about refining your technique and combining the skills in a way to be most effective, which means you'll need to use your brain just as much as your body!
Is diversity supported in this industry?

Yes! The rope access community is inclusive and open-minded. Of course, you may run into some bad eggs out there but that's just life! Check out our stories page to get a sense of what the community is like!

What else would I need to be a great rope tech?
Besides getting your rope access certification, you will also need to figure out what industry you want to be involved in that utilizes rope access work. This can range anywhere from building maintenance, to oil and gas, to wind energy, to construction! Each industry will seek certain skills and abilities. It's best to research what is required and combine that into your career trajectory. Keep in mind, women are considered a minority in trades and there are lots of initiatives to encourage women to join a skilled trade. The opportunities are there!

Great place to take rope access training. Instructors are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Lots to learn in one week but they made it very approachable even for someone with no prior rope experience.

Great week of training. Very friendly staff who are dedicated to the success of everyone. Worth the decision to travel from the east cost of Georgia, US. Dual certification is the way to go!
